ZP-0129/EP-0136 UPS Endless bootloop
-
Hello everyone,
I've recently purchased the ZP-0129 case along with the EP-0136 UPS HAT for my Raspberry Pi 4B. Initially, everything seemed to work perfectly. I used both the provided Raspbian image and installed the drivers on my own. After assembling the setup, I charged it until all four LEDs indicated full charge.
As per the wiki, I ensured to complete at least one full charge and discharge cycle. I left it for a few days to discharge the batteries.
However, when I plugged the power back into the UPS, it got stuck in a boot cycle. It attempts to start and keeps rebooting. I'm concerned this might damage my Raspberry Pi 4B!
Here's what I've tried so far:
- Multiple cables and power supplies (all with sufficient power for the board).
- Letting it sit for over an hour to see if the batteries needed a slight charge.
Nothing has worked, and I'm starting to worry the UPS HAT might be dead. Am I supposed to disassemble the entire case to charge the batteries separately? The current case design makes the batteries inaccessible without taking everything apart, which seems counterintuitive for a UPS designed for reliability.
What can I do to resolve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I currently have an unusable Pi, and I specifically bought this setup for its reliability.
Thank you!
