52Pi HiFi DAC Hat with PCIe to NVMe SSD - lots of static during audio play (?)

  Hi,
  
  searching around for a way to boost the boot-time (and increase storage) of my pi5, i found and bought this device (to replace my IQAudio DAC+ and RPI DAC+ that i already have in other units).
  
  After configuring it properly to have audio working, i did notice that the sound came out somewhat garbled (i notice quite a lot of static/crackle/pops) that i did not have on my other audio-hats. Are there any remedies for this at all? Anything i can try? Still love this concept (especially if it can retain a clean audio + the nvme-boot capability which is kind of unique in combination) but if the audio does not work as intended, its going back to the store.
